Thirty years. Two sons. Countless memories.

Our Fellas

Darren

Of all the blessings we’ve received during our 30 years of marriage, our greatest joy is our family. We are deeply grateful for our two sons, the men they have become, and the lives they are building. We are also thankful to welcome a wonderful daughter-in-love into our family.

Looking back, we see God’s faithfulness in every season. The legacy we cherish most is not measured by accomplishments - but by the love, values and family that will continue to grow through the generations.

Words from the Fellas

What’s your favorite memory of Mom and Dad?

My favorite memories are all of us going to the various baseball tournaments I had while growing up, and knowing that I always had my own fan section to support me no matter what.

What’s one word that describes your parent’s marriage?

Exemplary

What’s something your parents still do that makes you laugh?

As they say, opposites attract. My parents embody that truism to the extreme. Both my father, and mother are completely different in so many aspects, and must be treated as such. Once I realized this, life became a lot easier, and funnier in hindsight. I speak to my parents individually in very nuanced and specific terms, handcrafted for each of our own relational sense of humor, verbiage, and tonality. This system has been so idealized to the extent that I have a harder time talking with them when they are together. There has even been multiple instances in which one parent thought I was being rude or disrespectful to the other, even with there being minimal reaction from the parent I was directing myself towards. This is always a funny realization for me. Although no matter how different my parents are, they have always aligned on what was important. Instilling those qualities into me, in which I’m forever grateful.

What’s one lesson you learned from your parents?

One lesson that I learned from them is to trust and believe in God even in tough times because eventually God’s plan will reveal itself and it will become clear why you went through what you went through.
